MATCH REPORT : ST HELENS V MONA (ISLOF MAN) 30 MARCH 1891 The men from the Isle of Man visited St. Helens on Easter Monday. Mona were on a rugby tour of Lancashire. It must be noted that none of the Saints’ opposition appeared with three legs! St. Helens were missing Billy Cross and Jimmy Unsworth whilst Mona were asssted in their efforts by Joseph Fairclough and George Bryan from the homester’s Club. In a well contested and pleasant game, the Saints recorded a good victory. Score: - St. Helens 1 try and 3 minors to Mona 3 minors |
