MATCH REPORT : GLODWICK V ST. HELENS RANGERS 30 SEPTEMBER 1882 The teams met at Glodwick in very wet weather. The rain spoilt all the pleasure of the play, falling in torrents all the time. It was agreed to play two halves of twenty minutes, and Coverley winning the toss, the Rangers started the ball against a very strong wind. Despite the unfavourable state of the elements, some hard play was witnessed, and eventually the game ceased with the following score: Glodwick: - one try (disputed) and six touchdowns, St. Helens Rangers: - one touchdown. |
