MATCH REPORT : ST. HELENS RANGERS V EVERTON VALLEY 11 FEBRUARY 1882 Both clubs were well represented and a good game resulted in a victory for the Rangers by two tries, eight touchdowns and one dead ball to one touchdown for Everton. The tackling of Ellis, Ward, Wilson and Monroe was excellent for Everton Valley, whilst for St. Helens Charlie Ross and Bill Heaton at half back and William ‘Monsey’ Parr the forward, cannot be too highly commended. Joseph Rogers at full back, was as usual, up to the mark. The tries for the Rangers were obtained by Edward Chadwick and “Monsey’ Parr. |
