MATCH REPORT : Tigresses’ Tara Stanley grabbed the opener after just seven minutes. Claire Garner shipped the ball out to Stanley who exposed a gap down the right edge to give the hosts an early lead. The Tigresses then kicked a penalty before Saints hit back through Zoe Harris. Derek Hardman’s side continued to attack and it didn’t take long before a try from Leah Burke gave the Saints a deserved lead. The home side responded and worked the ball out down the left with Sinead Peach finding Stanley. The full-back spotted an opening in the Saints defence and exposed it, touching down. And three minutes later, Castleford extended their lead through a Georgia Roche try. Saints knew that they had a big second half to come and they certainly started on the front foot, but the Tigresses some how kept Saints out before Rhiannion Marshall threw a dummy and went over. Channy Crowl then saw red before Castleford’s Emma Lumley powered through the St.Helens defence to score. Saints continued to fight mind and got four points back when Leah Burke capitalised on a brilliant pass from Beth Stott. However, the two points were sealed for the Tigers when Georgia Roche grabbed her second late on. |
