 HERITAGE NO : Henry Joseph Unsworth IRON HENRY SUTTON Henry Joseph Unsworth was born in July 1863 in St. Helens. His father, Thomas, was an engine fitter and emanated from the Sutton area of St. Helens. The family lived at 88 Queen Street in the town. Henry made his debut in the away fixture against Walkden on the 22nd of November 1884. The Saints went down to a defeat that day. He went on to play at least another 6 matches for the Club. His final match for the first team was on the 25th of September 1886 when the Saints were victorious in a home. Win over Bootle. Jimmy was an iron founder and lived at various addresses in the Sutton area including Prescot Street Reginald Road and Robins Lane. Prescott Street, Sutton. He married Mary Spencer in the summer of 1890 and they had a daughter named Mary Catherine who was born in 1893. His final abode was at 13 Junction Lane, Sutton, St. Helens. Jimmy passed away on the 12th of February, 1941 at the age of 77. He left £881 in his will. |
