HERITAGE NO : Thomas Tyrer FARM LABOURER Thomas was born in St Helens in 1854. His father, named Isaac was a glass works labourer. He played two matches for the Saints in the 1870s. The first was against Fairfield on the 1st of December 1877. He ended the match on the losing team. He also played as a forward for the ‘Originals’ against Birkenhead Wanderers on the 22nd of November 1879 when the Saints overcame their opponents at Queens Park off Prescot Road in St. Helens. In 1871 he was living with his parents at 124 Raglan Street, St. Helens. Twenty years later he was married to Margaret and raising two sons.In 1891 he was working as a farm labourer and living at 9 Bewsey Street, Thatto Heath, St. Helens. |
