MATCH REPORT : Saints took the lead two minutes in. Featherstone lost the ball and Pip Birchall raced back the other way to score under the sticks. Faye Gaskin added the extras, 6-0 Saints led. Fourteen minutes later, Saints had another. Saints shifted the ball left and Jodie Cunningham threw a great cut-out pass to Dani McGifford who scored in the corner. Gaskin was unable to convert, 10-0. Featherstone responded. Camped on the Saints line, Brogan Churm was able to score from dummy half. Danielle Waters converted, 10-6 Saints led. Five minutes later, Saints increased their lead. Saints moved it left, Amy Taylor finding McGifford with a good cut-out pass and she raced away down the left wing for her second try. Gaskin converted, 16-6. McGifford had her third try on the half-hour mark. Saints again went left, McGifford cut inside from the wing, broke a tackle and raced away to grab her third try next to the sticks. Gaskin added two more points, 22-6. Saints’ final try of the half came right before the hooter. Jodie Cunningham raced through a gap 40 metres out, and rounded Hannah Watt before racing over underneath the sticks. Gaskin added the final points of the half, 28-6 Saints led at the break.

18 minutes into the second half, Saints grabbed another. Saints moved the ball through the hands down their left edge, Leah Burke got it and did a show and go to score in the corner. Gaskin was unable to convert, 32-6. She had another try three minutes later. Saints broke down the middle but Tara Jones was tackled. The following play, Saints went left and Cunningham threw a perfect cut-out pass to Burke who collected and scored. Taylor was unable to convert, 36-6. Featherstone then dropped the ball on their own line, Katie Mottershead reacting quickest and dived over to score from close range. Taylor was unable to convert, 40-6. Four minutes later, she had another try. Chantelle Crowl drove before finding a good offload to Mottershead who was able to score from close range. Taylor converted, 46-6. Burke then grabbed her hat-trick with seven minutes to go. Taylor picked up a loose pass and found Burke, she broke through a gap, before rounding Watt to score. Taylor missed the conversion, 50-6. There was still time for one final Saints try. The hosts again went left, with Taylor finding Burke who scored from close range. Taylor added the conversion, as Saints beat Featherstone 56-6 at the Totally Wicked Stadium.
