 HERITAGE NO : 1297 Dayon’s journey with St.Helens began at the age of fourteen with our Under 16s Scholarship programme where he developed for the first two years before joining the Academy.As a strong and speedy outside back, Dayon has made the centre spot his own in his Academy years, especially in 2023; getting named in both the Lancashire and England Academy squads. Taking a further step up, he has also played for our Reserves side during that time too.Dayon shined brightly in the Red V’s run to the Academy Championship title in 2023, with some incredibly skilful assists to his outside winger in both the Semi and Grand Final fixtures.2024 looked to get off to a flying start for Dayon, the young winger showed how fast he can be with a highly memorable try in the Saints’ Pre-Season friendly against Salford. Straight from a scrum 10m off our own line, the ball was worked to Sambou and he went 80m fending off three Red Devils men to get to the line and score in front of the West Stand at the Totally Wicked Stadium.Sadly, Dayon’s first season as a senior Saint was cut short by an injury, but he worked tirelessly on his rehab and wanted to fly again in 2025, and make his Super League debut with St.Helens. Dayon made an impressive debut for the Saints in the narrow home defeat to Warrington in March 2025. This game featured a great, acrobatic try for Dayon, capping a most memorable day for the lad. | ||||
