MATCH REPORT

MATCH REPORT : Saints drew 14-14 with Castleford on Sunday to stay top of the Women’s Super League. Leah Burke, Sarah Lovejoy and Chantelle Crowl all crossed for Mark Brennan’s side whose second half defence saw them home to a point.

“I was really proud of our effort,” Brennan said. “All the players gave 100 per cent and their commitment was second to none. We did a lot of defending in the second half and spent a lot of time in our own half so credit to the women for standing up to the pressure. “A draw was probably a fair result and it sets up the Challenge Cup game in two weeks nicely. “Once again massive thanks to all the fans who made the journey over to support the team. We all appreciate it.”
