HERITAGE NO : James Bromilow PARR MINER James was a local lad who was born in St Helens in April 1865. His father, also named, James, was a collier. In 1871 the family lived in Park Road, Parr, St. Helens. He married Sarah Ellen Barnes in January 1889. The newly wed James made his only appearance for the Saints in March 1889 in the away fixture against Crompton. James played in the forwards that day and helped the Saints to a well earned victory. He was also likely to have played for the Second team as well. In 1911, his family were resident at 27 Lascelles Street in Parr St. Helens. By then the family included 7 children. James died in St. Helens in December 1913 at the age of 49. |
