Biography of Edward Bremend |
---|
HERITAGE NO : Edward Bremend December Memories Edward played three matches for the Saints first team in December 1888. The centre three-quarter has been hard to track down in as far as his personal life is concerned. We believe that he was born in St. Helens in 1865 and was raised by his mother Ann. He was employed as a coal miner in a local pit and in 1891 and was resident at 52 Hills Moss Road, Sutton, St. Helens. At that time he was unmarried. Edward made his debut for the Saints against Widnes on the 15th of December 1888, a game won by the men from Widnes. He played again on the following Saturday as the Saints defeated Lancaster at the Dentons Green ground. His last match was an away fixture against Oldham side Werneth. Unfortunately his short first team career as a Centre was to end with a defeat. |
