Biography of Peter Ingram |
---|
HERITAGE NO : Peter Ingram ABRAM FORWARD Peter was born in Ince in the summer of 1859. In 1881 he was living in a house off Bickershaw Lane in Abram. His wife Ellen hailed from Haydock and this probably fostered a connection with the rugby in St. Helens. The couple had six children. We know little about his personal life other than the fact that his wife Ellen died in 1905 and Peter himself passed away in Wigan in the late 1920s. Peter played one match for the Saints against the splendidly named Southport Olympique on the 16th of February 1884. The match was played in Southport and the Saints triumphed over the ‘flat beachers’. |
