HERITAGE NO : Henry Hardy NEWSAGENT Joseph was a local lad who was born in St Helens on the 7th of September 1861. His father, Richard, was a glassmaker. In 1881 he was living with his parents at 97 Morley Street close to the centre of St. Helens. His only recorded match for the St. Helen’s Rangers was on the 7th of October 1882 when the Saints beat the Widnes Vipers to record a home victory. Henry played as a half back that day. He married Sarah Jane Bromilow on the 21st of July 1888 and they went on to have five children. In 1911 he was living at 127 Park Road, Parr, St. Helens and working as a newsagent. He died in October 1913 in St Helens at the age of 52. He was buried in Parr, St. Helens. |
