Biography of David Hadfield |
---|
HERITAGE NO : David Hadfield CHESHIRE MAN David was born in Marple, Cheshire in October 1861. He was a bricklayer who moved to St. Helens in the 1870s. He made his debut for the St. helens Rangers one the 8th of January 1881 in a home fixture against Newton le Willows. The Saints won by 2 goals and 6 minors to one minor for the boys from Newton. David played in the forwards that day. In all he is recorded as playing just one game for St. Helens but because of the paucity of results and team sheets from that period, the number of appearances is likely to be higher. He was also likely to have played for the Second team as well. He lived at 37 Hanover Street in St. Helens. David died in St. Helens on the 3rd of April 1935 at the age of 73. |
