Biography of Samuel Bradbury |
---|
HERITAGE NO : Samuel Bradbury CARPENTER Samuel was born in Prescot in April 1852. He was a forward who was recorded as playing one match for the Saints on the 3rd of February 1877 against Cheetham. The Manchester team won that day. Our records are somewhat limited because of the paucity of results and team sheets from that period. His number of appearances was likely to be higher. He was also likely to have played for the Second team as well. He married Ann Whalley in 1876 and they went on to have 11 children. By 1881 Samuel had moved to St. Helens and the young family were resident at 55 Queen Street in the town. He was working as a carpenter. He died in St. Helens on the 21st of April, 1933 at the age of 81. |
