MATCH REPORT : ST. HELENS V RADCLIFFE 12 FEBRUARY 1887 The return fixture between these two clubs was eagerly anticipated on account of the even contest witnessed at Radcliffe a fortnight ago. The St. Helens team was strengthened by the inclusion of several players from the St. Helens Recs Club who did not have a fixture on the same day. Kent of Radcliffe was the star of the show, dropping a goal and obtaining a very creditable try which sealed victory for Radcliffe. For St. Helens, Albert Tickle at the back was as safe as a house and ably supported by Ted Foreman and Joseph Halton. |
