Aspull then took control and Birchall dropped a goal and Brammill scored a try but the conversion failed. Shortly before half time St .Helens gained a try from Alec Borthwick After the change of ends St. Helens quickly scored two tries. These scores appeared to spark more life into the Aspull side. The team from the Wigan district proceeded by adding a dropped goal from Pilkington and late tries from Lawson and Seddon. Final score: Aspull- 2 goals and four tries and 8 minor points.
