Lewis is a scrum half from Halton Hornets who signed for Saints Academy in 2017. 2019 saw the talented youngster play 25 times and score 21 times, kicking a further 116 goals as he led the Saints Academy all the way to the Grand Final. His impressive form saw him called up to England Academy squad whilst he was also named as part of the 19 man squad for Saints first team’s visit to London in 2019, but did not make the matchday team.

Lewis came on as a substitute in the first team match against Wigan in September 2020. He slotted into dummy half and demonstrated his skill and exuberance. In his second game against Wakefield Trinity Lewis supported well to claim his first try for the Saints.

The 2020 season was very much a case of preparing Lewis for a key future role at the Club. Coach Kristian Wolfe slowly introduced him into life at Super League level by playing him in the middle ground as dummy half and improving his defensive qualities. This education was to pay off in the second half of the 2021 season when Lewis strung together a long series of matches following the injury to Theo Fages in the Challenge Cup Final. The development of Lewis as a half back was there for all to see as that season reached its climax in the form of the 2021 Grand Final at Old Trafford. It was amazing to think that Lewis could put in such a mature performance after just 24 First Team games. The victory over Catalans Dragons provided Lewis with a Grand Final winner’s ring and the plaudits of the onlookers that day.
