Biography of Joseph Paulo



HERITAGE NO : 1248

With an American Samoan mother and a Samooan father Joseph qualified to play for either of those countries. He was born in New Zealand but raised in Sydney, Australia. His brother Junior Paulo was also an NRL player for the Parramatta Eels.

In total Joseph played 166 NRL matches for Penrith, Parramatta and Cronulla Sharks scoring 7 tries and kicking 9 goals in the process. Playing mostly in the back row, he was often utilised as an impact player. Joseph was a tall, powerful forward with good agility and a nifty offload. In the 2018 season prior to joining the Saints, Joseph spent much of his time playing for the Newtown Jets in the New South Wales Cup.

Joseph made a winning debut against Wigan in the inaugural match of the 2019 season.
