Michael Joseph Pennington (born 5 September 1970), better known as Johnny Vegas, is an English comedian, actor, writer and director. He is known for his portly figure, angry comedic rants,[1] surreal humour, Lancashire accent, and husky voice.[2][3]His television roles have included Al in the ITV Digital and PG Tips adverts, drug dealer Moz in the BBC dark comedy Ideal, Geoff Maltby aka "The Oracle" in the ITV sitcom Benidorm, and Eric Agnew in the BBC sitcom Still Open All Hours. In 2005 the TV star, who is a life-long Saints fan, was drafted in to play against Hull FC as part of Keiron Cunningham’s testimonial.He may have only been on the field for five minutes, but what a five minutes it was!Johnny continues to support the town of St. Helens and its surrounds with community and charity work.
