Biography of Eric Woodyer



HERITAGE NO : 850
This local lad was brought up a stones throw away from the ground in Doulton Street. After signing from Leigh, Eric was named on the teamsheet for 11 matches for the first team in the 1967 to 68 season, including five starts in the second row or in the front row. He was a tough tackling and hard running forward.

Eric returned to the fold in 1970 for the first three season of that decade. He made his greatest impact in the 1972 to 73 season when Eric made 15 appearances and scored four tries in singletons against Featherstone Rovers, Oldham, Wigan and Whitehaven.
