Biography of Paul Vautin |
---|
HERITAGE NO : 1007 This popular Queensland and Australian representative was brought to the Saints for the 1988 to 1989 season. A tough, fast forward he scored four tries whilst donning the red vee. He was brought back for the 1989 Challenge Cup Final at Wembley, where an under par Saints side went down to an Ellery Hanley inspired Wigan. An Australian Kangaroos and Queensland State of Origin representative lock or second row forward, Vautin played club football in Brisbane with Wests before moving to Sydney and playing with Manly Warringah, with whom he won the 1987 premiership. He also played with the Roosters. He was also hired to coach Queensland, taking the Maroons to a 3 nil whitewash of New South Wales in 1995. After hanging up his boots, Paul became an Australian sports television personality. He hosted the NRL Footy Show and provided commentary for the Nine Network coverage of rugby league matches.
