He was a glass layer with Pilkington Bros at their Top Works.In 1911 William was living at 6 Back Stone House in Dentons Green, St Helens. His occupation was listed as a labourer. By 1939 he had moved to Rodney Street, St Helens. William died in St Helens in August 1942 at the age of 66.
