 HERITAGE NO : 710 Stan played 8 matches for the Saints from September 1952 to May 1954. He had a baptism of fire as he lined up in the second row against the touring Australian side. The image below shows Stan in action on that memorable day. As was the form in those days, the Saints prevailed by 26 points to 8. Stan scored his only try for the club in April 1953 as the Saints beat Liverpool City. In 1939 Stan was living in Irwell Street, Widnes and still attending school.
