Biography of Tommy Shannon *



HERITAGE NO : 516
Tommy Shannon was an outstanding half-back who played three matches for the Saints as a guest in 1941. He had played for England in 1938 and his Widnes appearances were just shy of 300 matches. The Saints won all three games and Tommy helped himself to a try in the home victory over Batley. The champion stand off was living in Mary Street, Widnes in 1939 and working as a Chargehand Brushing Process Worker in an Artificial Building Materials Plant. He died in his hometown in December 1986, aged 76.
