HERITAGE NO : 819
A renowned sprinter, signed from St Helens RUFC where he was a Lancashire County representative, Tom was an amiable and reliable winger who played for the Saints first team between May 1964 and November 1966. At a time when competition for places was most severe, Tom played a total of 26 matches for the club, scoring eight tries in the process. This try haul included a brace against Liverpool City in an away Lancashire Cup tie in 1964. Tom gained a winners medal as part of the Saints team which defeated Swinton by 12 points to 4 in the 1964 Lancashire Cup Final at Central Park, Wigan. Tom continued his rugby career at Rochdale Hornets.
