Biography of Danny Pimblett

HERITAGE NO :
Danny played most of his junior rugby for Ashton Bears but later moved to Hindley ARLFC where he was picked up by the Saints along with Tony Stewart, who went on to have a great career in the red vee. Danny attended Cansfield High School in Ashton in Makerfield.

Danny remembers that he had some great times at the Saints and played with some top players in the Academy team alongside the likes of Paul Wellens, Lee Briers and John Stankevitch. Danny also had the pleasure of being coached by legends Brian Case, Mike Gregory and Sean McRae whilst at the Saints.

Danny recalls that the highlight of his time at the Saints was playing in the Boxing Day derby against my hometown Wigan. The Saints fielded a pretty young side out that day but Wigan where at full strength with stars like Andy Farrell, Simon Haughton and Paul Johnson, an ex team mate from his amateur days at Hindley ARLFC, lining up for the Cherry and Whites. Never the less the biggest memory of that occasion was having Jason Robinson opposing him on the wing.

Thanks to Danny for the image and details of his rugby career.
