Biography of Keiron Pickavance



HERITAGE NO : 918
Keiron played 33 matches for the Saints first team from August 1976 to December 1980. He was a tough running and tackling second row or prop forward. He made his debut in the infamous Lancashire Cup First Round of 1976, also known as the Vigo match. The first team were on strike that day leaving the battle in the hands of developing talents like Keiron and some new recruits. Unlike others in that game Keiron continued his career with the Saints. He played in a Floodlit Trophy against Hull KR and the New Zealand touring team. Keiron scored just two tries in the same match, that was against Dewsbury in January 1978. He also played in 8 friendly matches for the first team netting four tries in the process. After his days at Knowsley Road, Keiron moved on to play for Rochdale Hornets.

Keiron has always kept himself in excellent physical shape and the self-acknowledged veteran played for Tommy Makinson's Saints team against Steve Prescott's Foundation team at Ruskin Drive on 5th December 2021. He is pictured below with former Saints winger Chris Smith.
