 HERITAGE NO : 332 Fred played his only match for the Saints in the 20 points to 6 league home defeat to a top Swinton team. Leyland played in the forwards in the number 12 jersey. Fred went on to play for local rivals Recs, this picture shows Fred in a St Helens Recs jersey. Outside rugby Fred was a Copper Furnace Worker and in 1939 he was living in Sunbury Street, St Helens. He died in his hometown in June 1963, aged 72. |
