|Jack Jenkinson by SHS |
We have very little information about this player, suffice to say that he was a hooker and appeared in just two First Team matches for the Saints. The first was on New Year’s Day at Knowsley Road, when the Recs were beaten 5-3. His second and last appearance in red and white came at Salford on 14th January 1939, where the visitors received a 37-0 trouncing. His front-rowers on both occasions were McLoughlin and Frank Ellaby, with regular hooker Roberts missing presumed injured. That is all the information we have. Jack was a Labourer for Public Works and in 1939 lived in Lock Street, Orrell. He died in Wigan in February 1999, aged 82. If you have any other details we would be delighted to hear from you.
