 HERITAGE NO : 875 Steve Houghton played four matches for the Saints in August and September 1971. In his debut he scored a try against Widnes in the first round of the Lancashire Cup but it was not enough as the Saints went down by 12 points to 10. Steve played in the centre but could operate on the wing. After his days at the Saints he moved on to play for Leigh [Heritage Number 796]. Steve worked as a Police Officer in St. Helens. Sadly, he passed away in December 2014 aged 67. Dave Dooley |
