 HERITAGE NO : 287 William was a local second row forward who played three matches for the Saints in 1921. His outings for the First Team were most successful having been on the winning side in all encounters against Broughton Rangers, Salford and Leigh. We can assume that William also played for the Saints' Reserves team as well. He was born in Dam Row, Ravenhead, St Helens. In 1921 William was living In Chancery Lane, St. Helens with his parents and five siblings. He worked as a Coal Miner for Bromilow and Forster at their Ashtons Green Colliery. In 1939 he was living at Gerard's Lane, Whiston and had a job as a horseman on a farm. He died December 1952,aged 52 and his death is registered in Prescot. Dave Dooley | ||||
