Biography of Robert Grice



HERITAGE NO : 37
Robert Grice was a tough forward who played two matches for the Saints in 1896 and 1897. The first game saw the club lose narrowly to Tyldesley whilst his last match witnessed a comfortable Saints victory.

Robert was a resident in Herbert Street, St Helens in 1901 and listed as a glass grinder. In 1921 Robert was living in Berrys Lane, St. Helens with his wife, Lois who hailed from St Helens, five sons and three daughters. He was a Coal Miner in the Collins Green Colliery.We believe Robert died in St Helens in late 1932 at the age of 57.
