Biography of Ray Farnall |
---|
HERITAGE NO : 706 Ray Farnall by SHS Ray Farnall was a utility back who was signed by the Saints from the famous amateur outfit Vine tavern. He made his sole First Team appearance in the full-back role on December 29th 1951, in a 2-27 reversal against Swinton at Station Road. Ray played most of his rugby in a very successful A Team at Knowsley Road and later joined Liverpool City. Rugby was certainly in his DNA, as his father, Thomas, played for the club in the late 1920s essentially as a forward, although he also turned out on the wing. |
