 HERITAGE NO : 106 This centre played two matches for the Saints in February and March 1902. He later turned out in another game for the Saints in 1905. His last match found him in the pack. James worked as a miner and chemical labourer at varying stages of his life. In 1926 he was involved in a pit accident at he Sutton Heath and Lea Green Colliery. At the time he was living in Pitt Street St. Helens. Interestingly he suffered further two accidents in the same Colliery. In 1939 he was a widower resident at 37 Granville Street, St Helens.
