 HERITAGE NO : 761 This hooker born in Leigh played 19 matches for the Saints from January 1959 to February 1960. He was signed from Rochdale Hornets and went on to play for Blackpool Borough and Wakefield Trinity. Hookers in that era were essentially specialist players tasked with regaining or retaining possession from properly contested scrums. Eddie was proficient in this area as well as having a reputation as a strong defender. In 1939 Eddie was living in Maple Crescent, Leigh. He died in his hometown in September 2006, aged 73.
