Biography of Alf Bevan



HERITAGE NO : 256
Alf Bevan was signed from the Army and played three matches for the Saints in February and March 1919. He played centre or on the wing. He was born in Sawley Bank, Shropshire and moved regularly through his life. In 1911 he was living in Emily Street, Thatto Heath, St Helens and working as a coal miner. By 1939 he had moved to Mulberry Grove, Wallasey where he was employed as a Motor Driver. He died in March 1954 at the age of 63. His death was registered in Prescot.
